Zero Emission Vehicle - ZEV concept

A zero-emissions vehicle, or ZEV, is a vehicle that emits no tailpipe pollutants from the on board source of power. The term zero-emissions or ZEV, as originally coined by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), refers only to tailpipe pollutants from the onboard source of power. Therefore CARB's definition is accounting only for pollutants emitted at the point of the vehicle operation, and the clean air benefits are usually local because depending on the source of the electricity used to recharge the batteries, air pollutant emissions are shifted to the location of the electricity generation plants.

   NISSAN ZERO EMISSION - LEAF

Nissan LEAF is powered by Laminated compact lithium-ion batteries which generate power output of 90kw,while its electric motor delivers 80kW/280Nm.This ensure a highly responsive, fun to drive experience that is in keeping with what consumers have come to expect from automobiles powered internal-combustion engines (ICE) unlike ICE-equipped vehicles,Nissan LEAF's power train has no tail pipe, and thus no emission of Carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases.A combination of Nissan LEAF's regenerative braking system and innovative lithium ion battery packs enables the car to deliver a sufficient driving range.
